2005 Cadillac Escalade EXT
I had been
looking for a Cadillac Escalade EXT for a while when
I ran across this one at Husker Auto Group in
Lincoln, Nebraska which is the Cadillac GMC
Chevrolet dealership there. It was everything
I had been looking for and then some!
Certified Pre-Owned Cadillac, only 56k miles, Black
exterior, Beige interior, sunroof, navigation, air
ride suspension, the fairly rare 2005 Escalade
Platinum 20" wheels, brand new Bridgestone tires,
new brakes, non-smoker, never been damaged and it
was a one owner that had been the personal vehicle
for the wife of a Nebraska Cadillac dealership owner
since new, so it had exemplary care throughout it's
life. It was a little bit more than I wanted
to spend, so I offered a price I knew they
would turn down (thinking that's when the
negotiations would begin) and the sales guy just
walked away! talk about unprofessional!
So, I left! I spent a few more weeks doing
more research and finally decided that for what I
wanted, what was available at the time, how this
vehicle was equipped, and in addition I wouldn't
have to travel to go get it, I would be better off
even if I had to pay their price. Three weeks
had gone by when I went back to the dealer to agree
to their price. I walked in and said, ok, I'm here
to buy that Cadillac, so they went and got the
salesman I had been working with, who told me that
it had sold less than 24 hours ago. So, I went
home and decided maybe this just wasn't the time for
me to buy a car, but I kept looking around in my
spare time anyway. About two more weeks had gone by
when the same salesman called me and said,"hey the
people who bought that Cadillac, their financing
fell threw, we have it back, do you still want
it?" I said yup! I sure do, so I went
the next day and bought it. Anyway, long
story, but fairly entertaining. Of all of the
vehicles I have owned, this might be the best
driving and riding, my Denali XL is close, and I
mean very close, but nothing rides or
drives quite like a Cadillac. It was a joy to
own and drive.
