          Texas Style Chili
           From the kitchen at Almira


Ingredients:
4 lbs 85% lean Ground Beef
56 oz crushed tomatoes 
56 oz diced tomatoes 
5 - 16oz cans "Ranch Style Beans"
12oz Pickled Jalapenos Slices
2 tbsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Garlic salt
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Paprika
1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
1 lg Yellow Onion

Instructions:
( Following the method of preparation for this recipe is important if you want it to taste right )

1. In a separate bowl, combine the chili powder, garlic salt, oregano, paprika, and cayenne pepper and set aside.

2. Chop onion and jalapenos and set aside.

3. In a 10 quart pot, brown ground beef, chopped onion and jalapenos.
( This recipe will fit in an 8 quart pot, but you won't be able to stir it without spilling )

4. Add combined spices and mix thoroughly as beef begins to brown.  

5. Allow to simmer for 30 - 45 minutes on low to med heat stirring regularly.  

6. Add : 5 - 15oz containers "Ranch Style Beans"
( The Ranch Style Bean is a big part of this recipe, no other bean has the correct flavor  )

7. Add:
56 oz crushed tomatoes 
56 oz diced tomatoes
 
8. Allow to simmer on low for 2 to 4 hours stirring regularly.
